For my third Wich Hunt I decided to go looking for more of a delicatessen style meal and found two great ones. First, in the red corner, fighting out of Sandwich City down on 10th and Ellis, is the Super City Special. This heavyweight is stacked high with ham, turkey, pepperoni and salami. Add cheese and veggies to the mix and you are looking at one stout contender. The Super City Special is a beastly way to enjoy the delicious fresh meats that have made Sandwich City a lunch staple of downtown Augusta.
Fighting out of the blue corner is The Bicentennial from Sunshine Bakery. Pastrami, salami and turkey with a delectable russian dressing anoint this heavenly delight. The gooey muenster cheese brings the whole experience together as if 200 years of sandwich ingenuity resulted in the perfection laying before you as you prepare your taste buds for a glimpse at heaven.
Still, as I have said before, Augusta is your town and this is your food. Get out and eat local!
