Friday October 2nd saw a lot of cloudy skies, but an amazing collection of people in downtown Augusta. Westobou was in partial swing (historical rain threats canceled most of the outdoor events), and gallery openings were abundant. Also during this time, your Creases team was able to pull off one interesting little party in 600 Broad! Sat up beside an amazing Artzilla line up, some very talented Middle School student works (Art History Chairs), great bands playing outside (Ross Weglarz, Kenny George Band), and some delicious eats provided by Joe's Underground, we were very fortunate to be a part of the festivities. |
Our plan was simple for day one: ART! We had a panel of five comic artists all hunkered down and each creating a comic for the Creases' format. Each artist using their own perspective on illustration. Joshua Smith gathered the talented team of artists which included Jason Walter, Macy Goodwin, Deecee Cassius of FourRounds Comics, and Ethan McGee. Each one spent 5 hours producing a comic with most completing their projects before the show came down at 10pm.
Along with the comic artists, we had a collection of back issue Creases, plus T-shirts and screen printed posters printed off by Mod Ink up for grabs! If you missed out on getting your own, Creasetoberfest II will begin at Book Tavern tonight (Oct. 3rd) at 7:30pm and continue at Joe's Underground where the focus will be more on the music. We'll have the finished products of the comics created the day before, and some wine and cheese provided by your Creases team. We hope to see you there! |
